For over 20 years, Bens Surf Clinic has developed a structured surf coaching system, which allows people to develop their surf ability throughout their surfing lifetime. Through step-by-step coaching clinics, certification and a clear skill development ladder your surfing can reach new heights.

The foundation for all surfing is your basics, and this is what we focus on in a beginners course. If you have most of these skills down check out our improvers surf course for the next stage.

All our coaches are ISA Level 2 qualified coaches and Ben is a Level 3 coach with over 20 years coaching experience.

Course Includes:

  •  4 Surf Lessons ( 2 hours each) (Sat x2, Sun x2)
  •  Extended Water Time
  •  Theory Class

Lesson Breakdown

Lessons are for two hours in the water with a Level 2/3 qualified surf intructor, who will assess your ability and develop a programme for the weekend to correct any technical issues and basics that may need altering. We are also continually introducing new skills and methods for learning and development.

The theory class involves learning about forecasting waves and reading the conditions of the waves. This is to increase the number and quality of the waves students get. We also focus on safety issues, surf etiquette and other surfing issues.

Our Surf Courses are pitched at the right level for each surfer and are progressive. The aim is to continuously develop and progress the standard of the surfer, hopefully moving them on to more difficult boards and beaches.

20 August 2012

Just back from a weekend in Kilkee but I drove up to Lahinch with the kids who have been bitten by the surfing bug after doing a weeks beginners course in July with Ben & crew. They did 2 lessons this weekend and can’t wait to go back again. The lads made it fun and interesting and even a weevlefish sting hasn’t put them off. It’s a long drive from Wexford to Lahinch but well worth it. Thanks guys.
